Yasin Bhatkal,Dilsukhnagar twin blasts case
Yasin Bhatkal, co-founder of Indian Mujahideen (IM), presently lodged in Charlapally central prison for his role in the Dilsukhnagar twin blasts case, had made 27 calls through the mobile phone given to the prisoners, Telangana prisons DIG Narsimha said in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference at the prison, Mr. Narsimha said all the phone calls made by Bhatkal were recorded. These conversations would be forwarded to the National Investigation Agency officials.
Mr. Narsimha said the mobile phone was provided to prisoners as part of the prisons department policy and Bhatkal had registered the names of his mother and wife in the contacts list. “There are no chances of prisoners, including Bhatkal, using any other mobile phone, which is illegal,” the DIG said.
He said Bhatkal spoke in Urdu and Arabic with his wife. Bhatkal was given permission to use mobile phone through court order. “We heard the recorded conversations of Bhatkal. He didn’t speak anything about plans to escape from the prison or securing help of IS operatives too. We are stilly analysing the calls,” the DIG said.
