Delhi ACB chief MK Meena on Monday transfered the SHO, considered close to the AAP government, and made a new appointment hours after the Delhi High Court turned down its plea seeking to restrain him from entering his office.

Inspector Brij Mohan has been appointed as the new SHO of ACB. He will replace Inspector Vinay Malik with immediate effect, sources said. Malik is considered close to the AAP government-appointed ACB chief S S Yadav and had been playing a crucial role in the recent anti-corruption action, according to the sources.

The move can further intensify the tussel between Meena and Yadav who operate from the same premises. The face-off between Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had resulted in the Delhi government's ACB having two chiefs.

It all began on June 8, when Joint Commissioner Meena, a 1989-batch Indian Police Service officer, took charge of ACB after he was appointed by Jung, superseding Additional Commissioner SS Yadav. Yadav had been hand-picked by Delhi government for the post. The AAP government had reacted by terming the appointment illegal and claimed that there was no post of joint commissioner in ACB.
