Stroking controversies by the Telugu Desam Party senior leaders have become major worry, concern for its party chief- AP CM Chandrababu Naidu who is on a mission to build world-class capital city for the truncated state. Of late, the senior leaders of the party becoming talking point for bad for one reason or the other. Be it Amalapuram MP Pandula Ravindra Babu for his most controversial remarks on Indian army men or Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar's alleged attack on lady Tahsildar or be the issue of sensational cash-for-vote case in Telangana involving several TDP MLAs like Revanth Reddy, Sandra or the latest TDP MPs counter attack on Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, TDP is in news for all the wrong reasons.

Unlike before, where TDP was a decent party with strict discipline, the situation  within TDP today is completely contrary as its party leaders are flouting the Party's Rules Book and courting controversies one after the other inviting more trouble. Given that the party is already mired in neck-deep challenges, especially facing severe financial crunch in the successor state, it's not easy for its chief to look into the brewing controversies and bring its leaders into order. It's undeniable that controversies courted by TDP leaders have damaged party's image in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to some extent.

If the trend continues, the party would be in serious trouble in days to come. This issue needs Naidu's immediate attention and it should  be the first issue to be taken up by him soon after his return from Japan visit. It's high-time Naidu should crack his whip and set the leaders fall in line. Else, TDP would pay its hefty price in coming elections.
