Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed AP special representative Kambhampati Rammohan Rao to speak to the ministry of external affairs and take steps to trace Telugus stranded in Nepal. Mr Rao spoke to MEA officials.
He directed special commissioner (external engagement division) and the Resident Commissioner at AP Bhavan to arrange for food, temporary shelter and transportation to their native places in AP after the Telugus reach New Delhi. In the directions of Mr Naidu, the government set up control rooms at Delhi and Hyderabad.
Mr Naidu also spoke to disaster management commissioner Dhananjaya Reddy and asked him to arrange for transport of Telugus to their homes. He also checked with district collectors in AP and took reports on the impact of the tremors locally.
