Hyderabad: A group of ministers of Andhra Pradesh led by Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy called on the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, here on Tuesday, and submitted a memorandum seeking his immediate intervention on various issues  that have been bothering the State since the bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh State.  
 
K E Krishna Murthy along with his colleagues K Acthannaidu, Pattipati Pulla Rao, Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy and Ravela Kishore Babu briefed the President on how the Telangana government was taking unilateral decisions in regard to the institutions under the Schedule IX and X, which had adversely affected the interests of Andhra Pradesh.

They told the President that despite Hyderabad being the common capital for 10 years as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, several ministers and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had been referring to people from Seemandhra as ‘Andhrollu’ or ‘Settlers,’ which could affect the brotherhood between the Telugu-speaking people of the two States.

The group of AP Ministers also sought the President’s intervention to establish State Labour Commissionerate, and other head offices in Hyderabad. Appealing to the President, they asked the President to ensure that the powers in regard to law and order be vested with the Governor.

They said this became necessary as the TS government had tapped the telephones of AP Chief Minister, Ministers, officials and  key members of the State government. Further, they asked Pranab Mukherjee to ensure that the Sections 5 and 8 of the Reorganisation Act be given effect. Otherwise, it would result in one State government treating the State government as its subordinate.

Hence, they urged implementation of the Sections 5 and 8, or bring the administration of the common capital of Hyderabad under the purview of the Centre. They also highlighted that the Telangana State did not have any right to boss over the GoAP or its officials.
 
The ministers later informed that the President had heard their submissions, and assured them, pointing out that the Central government had the responsibility to see that everything in the common capital should be in conformity with the Constitution.
