Hyderabad: Three days ago, flash news appeared in a section of media stating that BJP Telangana President Kishan Reddy has offered to quit his post to pave way for other youngsters in the party. The report seems to be genuine as some consequent developments within the party are strengthening it.
According to latest information, BJP national president Amit Shah has expressed anguish on the party leaders of Telangana state for lacking interest to strengthen the party in the state. He is said to be asked the T-BJP leaders how can they expect the party to emerge as alternate political power in the state by 2019, when they confined to Hyderabad city only.
He asked whether they are considering their party is strong because it has some hold on Hyderabad city. He said to be questioned them about party situation in each and every district and 31 reserved constituencies in the state. He reiterated that the state BJP leaders are unable to encash the political vacuum created with Congress party gradual dilution in the state. He insisted the state leaders to take initiative for strengthening the party from grass root levels.
Perhaps, this is why Kishan Reddy wants to quit his post. But, he is the one who should be blamed for failing to encash the conflict situation in the state in the general elections held last year. He assures his party high command that BJP alone can make a clean swipe in the elections and no need of alliance with TDP. But, he not even able to get as many seats as TDP won in the state. BJP had won total 5 MLA seats and one MP seat only that too in Hyderabad and nowhere else in the state.
In fact, T-BJP is believed to be stronger than its counterpart in AP state. But, surprisingly AP unit fared better than its counterpart in Telangana state. It won four MLA seats two MP seats from different places in the state. Actually, former Vizag MP D. Purandeswari, who is assumed to be a winning horse, has lost after she was shunted to Rajampeta in Kadapa district, otherwise BJP would have three MP seats from AP and only one MP seat in Telangana.
To be frank, except those five MLAs and one MP, hardly a handful of leaders are there in the party who are familiar in Telangana state. It stresses the need to encourage second and third level leaders in the party across the state. The same thumb rule is applicable to its AP unit also.
