Mussoorie: After a woman was allegedly found to have used a fake identity card to enter the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), the Centre has decided to seek an explanation from the academy's Deputy Director Saurabh Jain. The impostor, Ruby Choudhary from Uttar Pradesh, accused Jain of taking money from her to ensure her entry into the academy.
Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) BS Sidhu ordered an immediate investigation into the case after Ruby alleged that Jain also issued her a fake ID. But he also added that there is still not enough evidence to arrest Ruby.
On the other hand, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat said, "Can only comment after speaking to the director of the academy. The woman is a fraud. I can only comment on her once I have verified all details."
The Academy Deputy Secretary said that an inquiry has been ordered that will look into the allegations of money being paid to Jain. The guard related to the case has been suspended.
"This girl is a habitual imposter. She stayed in ATI (Administrative Training Institute) Nanital also with a different name. We have checked all records on Wednesday and have found no girl with the name of Ruby Chaudhary who has qualified in any recent batches," said a member of the inquiry team.
Ruby Choudhary, accused of using a fake identity card to gain entry into LBSNAA where Indian Indian Administrative Service (IAS) probationers undergo training, blamed Jain for the incident, claiming that he facilitated her stay at the academy's guest house.
She claimed that Deputy Director was the one who had issued a fake identity card to her. She said that she was not to be blamed and demanded an immediate probe into the incident.
The woman had impersonated different people, using a fake identity card and had stayed on in the academy while evading the police.
Ruby posed as an IAS probationer and joined LBSNAA in Mussoorie where she underwent training for seven months before the truth came out.
The woman from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh fled soon after the truth was revealed.
She pretended to be an IAS officer and even a library assistant and stayed at the academy. The woman was allegedly using an identity card of a Sub Divisional Magistrate issued by the Nainital District Authority.
An FIR has been lodged after the major security lapse was detected. According to the FIR, the woman was staying in the guard's room of LBSNAA.
