Hyderabad: Describing introduction of Entry Tax for vehicles entering into Telangana State from Andhra Pradesh by the Telangana State government as against the spirit of Constitution, the CPI on Wednesday alleged that the decision would affect the common people in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.
Speaking to the media at CPI office here on Wednesday, party leader K Narayana suggested to both that States that problem be solved through dialogue across the table. He said the TRS government was acting against the provisions of Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act by introducing Entry Tax on vehicles unilaterally.
Narayana criticised the TDP government for arresting the CPI activists for waging a fight against the Centre which was reluctant to give special status to Andhra Pradesh. He accused the government of working with a vested interest. The AP government was not implementing people’s agenda, he added. Making it clear that the Left Parties only had the courage to face communal BJP, Narayana said CPI was ready for re-unification of Left Parties. “Left Parties’ unification will put a check to Narendra Modi Government”, he said.
