Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed officials to prepare proposals for cleaning the heavily polluted Hussain Sagar lake this summer. He even told them to prepare plans to divert drainage lines from flowing into the lake. Rao held a review meeting on Hyderabad issues at Secretariat after making a visit of the centuries-old Monda Market in Secunderabad.
City ministers Naini Narasimha Reddy, Mahmood Ali and Talasani Srinivas Yadav besides senior officials of GHMC and HMDA took part. Rao said that there was no funds crunch for this initiative and government was willing to go to any length to transform the polluted lake to a clean one. He directed them to fix Full Tank Level (FTL) limits.
Lamenting about woeful conditions of people living in Ambedkar Nagar and Vengal Rao Nagar areas, he told officials to prepare two to three big towers to house 500 families in them. Further, he asked GHMC and HMDA officials to prepare list of government lands in state capital so that vegetable and meat markets, parking complexes, footpaths and toilets, dhobighaats and burial grounds could be built.
