Illegal sand mining: TDP demands probe,TDP district unit president and MLC,TRS government appoint a committee to probe
Nizamabad: The TDP district unit president and MLC, Arikela Narsa Reddy, on Saturday demanded that the TRS government appoint a committee to probe into the activities of the sand mining mafia in the district. Speaking to the media at the TDP office here on Saturday, Narsa Reddy alleged that the ruling party leaders and officials had a role in the illegal sand quarrying activities.
The TDP leader pointed out that illegal sand mining was going on for the past four months. “Ruling party leaders and officials have direct links with the activities of sand mafia,” he added. He stated that sand was being illegally transported from the banks of Manjeera river.
He flayed the Telangana government for not taking any action against illegal sand mining activities while making statements that they were against corruption. The MLC came down heavily on officials of Revenue, Police and Mines Departments for extending support to ruling party leaders in continuing illegal sand mining unabated. He held the TRS government responsible for illegal sand mining in the district.
