Holds a review meet; asks officials to adhere to targets

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma conducted the Special Task Force (STF) meeting on Tuesday and reviewed the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail project. Making a detailed presentation on the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the decisions of the previous STF meeting, HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy informed that since the last meeting, critical properties such as Country Club and property of Wakf board at Begumpet were acquired.

In addition, seven important properties were also dismantled. He further informed that work on all the three interchange Metro Rail stations at Ameerpet, Parade Grounds and Imliban were in progress. The Chief Secretary, while reviewing the progress on utility shifting, instructed L&TMRHL to adhere to the targets for completion of those works.  

He cautioned them that any kind of delay in these works would cause inconvenience to the road users. L&TMRHL assured CS that they would complete the utility shifting works as per schedule and would also complete the restoration of roads on priority.  Rajiv Sharma suggested that Principal Secretary (MA & UD) hold a meeting with C & SO, GHMC, Commissioners of Police (Hyderabad & Cyberabad) and MD, HMR to evaluate proposals for improvement of critical junctions and road stretches.

He also suggested that land pockets adjacent to the main roads which were suitable for development as parking slots also be identified and a report to be furnished in the next STF meeting.  Principal Secretary MA&UD M G Gopal, GHMC Special Officer & Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Principal Secretary (Health, Medical & Family Welfare) Suresh Chanda, Secretary Law Santosh Reddy, Special Secretary Minorities Welfare Department Syed Omer Jaleel, Commissioner of Police (Cyberabad) CV Anand, Additional CP (Traffic) K  Jitender, Hyderabad Collector K Nirmala, Collector RR District M Raghunandan Rao, DCP (Traffic) Cyberabad Avinash K Mohanty, CMD, TSSPDCL G Raghuma Reddy and others were present.
