The BJP has decided to go into full battle mode in a bid to counter the AAP and secure a majority in the Delhi elections due next month. Several major decisions were taken at a crucial BJP strategy meeting at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting was attended by several top party leader and was chaired by party chief Amit Shah.

Amit Shah in command

The BJP chief has taken full control of the campaign and has brought in 120 MPs and hundreds of party workers from 13 states to Delhi to run the election campaign as it peaks.

250 rallies
 
There will be 250 BJP rallies in the city in the next few days. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address four of them.

"We will do micro-management of the elections. We will be fighting for two-third majority," Bangalore South MP and senior party leader Ananth Kumar told reporters after a strategy meeting at the party headquarters.

There will also be daily assessment of the campaign, he said.

Vision document

The party however will not release a manifesto, but only "a vision document." Modi and BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi will jointly release the document in a few days, Ananth Kumar said.

5 questions to Kejriwal every day

The BJP, to take on the AAP and its chief ministerial candidate, will ask the AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal five questions. "The BJP will ask Arvind Kejriwal five questions every day till February 6," said the party's Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal on his part has been demanding a public debate with Kiran Bedi.

Sources in the BJP also said that Amit Shah has pulled up party leaders running the campaign in Delhi. The leaders to come down to the grown instead of flying high, he reportedly said. He also scolded them on showing less enthusiasm in distributing elections material. Where has that passion gone, he is reported to have said.

Delhi goes to the polls on February 7 and the results will be declared on February 10.
