The Election Commission of India has given its go ahead for the Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau to proceed its investigation in the sensational cash-for-note case. EC has sent a letter to the ACB corroborating the same. With this, ACB has got power to investigate this high-profile case involving CM of Andhra Pradesh.
On May 31, Revanth Reddy was caught by ACB along with Bishop Harry Sebastian and R Uday Simha while allegedly paying a bribe of Rs 50 lakh to Elvis Stephenson, a nominated MLA from the Anglo-Indian community for supporting the TDP nominee in Legislative Council elections on June 1. Following this, the purported conversation between AP CM Chandrababu and stephenson was leaked to media on June 7th.
The latest is that the ACB has served notices to another TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah on Tuesday night in the same matter. ACB on Wednesday recorded the statement of nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson. The investigating officials have also arrested Telangana TDP leader V Narender Reddy on Thursday after interrogating him for four long hours.
