Hyderabad: Unseasonal heavy rain once again lashed the two Telugu States adding to the woes of farmers, who were already hit by the recent spells of rain that brought havoc damaging standing crops as well as the harvest. The incessant downpour since Friday morning came as a blow to the farming community in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The heavy showers damaged harvested crops like paddy and maize in Krishna, Guntur, Anantapur and Prakasam districts. Boulders rolled down from the Indrakeeladri hills in Vijayawada causing a traffic hurdle on NH-9. The continuous rain started on Thursday night in Prakasam district.
