Infosys,Non-Executive Chairman,R Seshasayee
Infosys on Friday said its board has appointed R Seshasayee as the IT giant's non-executive chairman with immediate effect. KV Kamath is stepping down from his position as chairman and independent director of Infosys, consequent to his nomination as president of the BRICS New Development Bank.
Mr Seshasayee has been an independent director with Infosys since 2011 and is the chairperson of the company's audit committee. Mr Seshasayee's other board positions include non-executive vice chairman of Ashok Leyland and chairman of IndusInd Bank.
A chartered accountant by profession, Mr Seshasayee started his career with Hindustan Lever Limited in 1971. He joined Ashok Leyland Ltd. in 1976 and was appointed as executive director in 1983, deputy managing director in 1993 and elevated as managing director in April 1998.
