Some bad news to students of junior colleges in Telangana: The state government has cut down the second-term holidays, which were announced earlier, by two days.

The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) had earlier announced second-term holidays from January 10 to 18. But the board, in a press release on Wednesday, asked the junior colleges in the state to function on January 10 and 11 to compensate the “loss of working days” due to change in the first-term holidays.  

Accordingly, the second-term holidays would now be from January 12 to 18. The BIE asked all principals to adhere to the changes. The BIE decided to cut down on the holidays for second term (Sankranti vacation) as it had given two extra days as holidays in the first term (Dasara vacation).
