DSC for Tribal teachers in AP

The State government will hold separate DSC notification to fill up around 2,500 teacher vacancies in the Tribal Welfare Schools (TWS) in the state.

Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu said that the modalities for conducting the separate DSC would be finalised soon.

There was a proposal to conduct DSC for TWS, along with the regular DSC which was announced recently. But, the service rules and regulations pertaining to the TWS were different. This has resulted in a decision to conduct an exclusive DSC to fill up the teachers’ vacancies in TWS, the Minister said.

The State government has decided to merge schools with low enrolment of students into one school. Each mandal in the State will have such cluster-based schools.  The affected students would be provided with transport facility. And, it was decided to have a strength of around 2,000 students in each of these schools, with fully equipped labs, computer centre, and other infrastructure like library and the like.

The first such model school has been planned in Kuppam mandal in Chittoor district, at a cost of Rs 10 crore. A 10-acre land had already been earmarked, Ravela said.
