T TDP MLAs stage sit in protest in Speaker's chamber

With the TS government not willing to lift the suspension against the TTDP MLAs, the TDP has decided to up the ante against the Speaker and put pressure on him to take a decision in regard to the disqualification of those who defected to TRS. Led by TTDP floor leader E Dayakar Rao 10 Telangana Telugu Desam Party MLAs on Tuesday staged a sit-in inside the chamber of Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary demanding action against Talsani Srinivasa Yadav.

The MLAs walked into the Speaker’s chamber before the House commenced its proceedings for the day and wanted to know what he had decided on the letter they had given to him and insisted that the Speaker give them answer. The Speaker told that he would act as per the procedures and practices and that they should not try to dictate terms to the Chair. The agitated MLAs then squatted on the floor of the Speaker’s chamber. Earlier, the BJP floor leader K Laxman appealed to the Speaker to lift the suspension on the members as only two days remained for the budget session to conclude. Congress MLA J Geetha Reddy too echoed similar sentiment.
