Nizamabad MP K Kavitha will launch Telangana American Telugu Association (TATA)- an association of Telugu diaspora from Telangana state on April 5 in New Jersey.

In a release issued here on Sunday by TATA member Mahesh Bigala, political leaders of all parties from the state will attend the event. Ace comedian and mimicry artist Shiva Reddy, folk artistes Goreti Venkanna and Vandemataram Srinivas will perform on the occasion.

Of the total 1.5 million Telugus living in the USA, a large chunk of them hail from Telangana state. The new association is aimed at promoting Telugu language and arts through various programmes, the release said.

With the motto of ‘Telugu kalala thota- Telangana sevala kota’, the TATA member announced that the association would contribute towards the goal of ‘Bangaru Telangana’ envisioned by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
