The Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be getting successful in gathering support from various quarters in the political arena. After Kiran Bedi and former Aam Aadmi party member Shazia Ilmi, senior Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi is all set to join the BJP.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trivedi said that he is a great leader and the world is looking up to him. According to sources, he has been in touch with BJP President Amit Shah and senior party leader Sidharth Nath singh for the last few weeks.
While he did not clearly state that he will be joining the BJP, he said that "in politics you only do what is best for the nation."
He also criticised his party chief Mamata Banerjee for failing to live upto the expectations of the people. "We have done well as compared to Left but we could have done much better. I am saddened by the violence that I see in Bengal politics," he said.
Apart from Kiran Bedi and Shazia Ilmi, several other leaders have joined the BJP in the past week. Some of these include, former minister and Congress leader Krishna Tirath and Vinod Kumar Binny.
