Widely-acclaimed election strategist Prashant Kishor is ready to don a new hat. Kishor has been appointed as advisor to the office of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and will now have the status of a minister.
He is the architect of the election campaign of Nitish Kumar ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. Nitish was projected as the CM candidate of the Grand Alliance - the Janata Dal United (JDU), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress - during the election campaign which crushed the National Democratic Alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Mentored by Prashant Kishor, the campaign team of the Bihar CM - Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC) - reached out to the remotest possible voter projecting the face of the JDU leader who was seeking another term as the CM.
From creating WhatsApp groups to poster wars, IPAC did all that was needed to help Nitish in his political campaign.
He is also credited for sprucing up the Lok Sabha election campaign of Narendra Modi through social media. Modi took over as the Prime Minister in May 2014 with thumping majority..
Kishor had returned to India in 2011 after quitting a lucrative job with the United Nations to join a team of young professionals, called Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG).
