Karimnagar: A 14-year-old girl, Elagandala Sai Meghana, proved her caliber by setting a world record by reciting days and dates stretching to 200 years from now on Friday.
The event was organised at Hotel Swetha Conference Hall and was supervised by B Narender, South India Coordinator for Guinness World Records and its Telangana and Andhra Pradesh representative Swarna Sri.
The wonder girl proved her mettle by recollecting dates of calendars from BC 1 to 999 AD and she also spelt out calendar months of Mayan, Bahan, Hebrew, Islamic, Persian accurately.
B Narender felt that it would certainly be a world record as nobody has attempted such a feat at the age of 14. At the end of the programme Mr. Narendar presented her a medal and a certificate, stating that they would officially make an announcement after proper verification Meghana's father Dr Elagandala Srinivas, a general surgeon, says that his daughter took rigorous training for six months and was trained by Venu Kumar.
Proud father also says that Meghana wanted to prove herself in other areas apart from the academics. Meghana had participated in the National Memory Championship organised by National Memory Council in Hyderabad last month.
