TS Budet 2016: Rs 10,731 crore for Rural development

Hyderabad: The Telangana  government has given appropriate priority for rural development in the budget.The government which allocated Rs. 6,583 Crore in the last budget allocated Rs 10,731 crore for the rural development this year.

With an aim of strengthening Gram Panchayats, he Government has started Gramajyoti program in 2015. Gramajyoti program is intended for the development of the villages based on the instructions received from the people of a village , said Finance Minister.

The government not only increased the salaries of Sarpanches, MPTCs, MPPs, ZPTCs, ZP Chairmen, but also paying their salaries, added Minister.

Rs .10,713 crore is allocated for the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, said Minister Eetela Rajendar.
