Hyderabad: Finance Minister Eetela Rajinder introduced Telangana Budget for 2016-17 n the Assembly. The state government's ambitious Double-bedroom housing scheme received tremendous applause from various sections, said Minister Eetela.
The Government has granted 60 thousand houses last year of which 36 thousand houses in villages and 24 thousand in urban areas are under construction, he said.
377 double-bedroom houses in IDH Colony were constructed and handed over to the beneficiaries by the Chief Minister KCR. In the year 2016-17, the Government is planning to construct one lakh houses in the GHMC limits. Another one lakh houses in the remaining parts of Telangana will be constructed and handed over to the beneficiaries. The Government is considering to take loan from HUDCO and other financial institutions to build 2 lakh houses in the state, said Minister in his Budget speech.
The loan is in addition to the allocations mentioned in the budget. The beneficiaries will be selected genuinely without any political pressure, added Minister.
