New Delhi: Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu here on Tuesday extended his support to the DeitY(Department of Electronics and Information Technology) plan of establishing Digital Seva Kendra Model Project in Visakhapatnam. He spoke to the concerned officials in Visakhapatnam and asked them to extend all necessary assistance to the officials of DeitY during their visit to the city.
A press release of Venkaiah’s office here on Tuesday mentioned that Visakhapatnam was selected as one of the smart cities in the first list of 20 smart cities and also informed about creating an Information and Communications Technology infrastructure for the city to become smart.
ICT acts as an enabler to make a city smart and helps in intelligent and efficient use of resources. It also helps in cost and energy savings and reduces environmental footprint, said the Minister.
