Hyderabad: Pink is associated with love all over the world. But for Hyderabadi cricketer VVS Laxman it has a different connotation.
Laxman is in the news in the last few months for the fancy shirts he wears during his commentary assignments.
In October 2015, during the India and South Africa series, Team India even trolled him for his flashy ‘bird’ design shirt. At that time, Laxman took it very sportingly and replied very politely with a smiling face, reports Criclife.
On Thursday, during the Asia Cup 2016 match between India and United Arab Emirates, Laxman was once again in the spotlight for his shirt — a bright pink coloured one.
Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden too joined him in his league by wearing a yellow shirt full off wacky designs. After the match, during the post-match interview, Harsha Bhogle quoted Laxman’s shirt as ‘glorious pink’ and in return, the elegant Hyderabadi came up with a classic answer by saying, “By the way, Pink is the colour of my state Telangana, so that’s why I am supporting Telangana.”
The moment Laxman said this, all them shared a big laugh.
