India’s ODI cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had signed up as the brand ambassador, for 3 years, for Grand Midwest Group, a hospitality and event management company in Dubai.

Regarding the announcement of the same, the press release stated, “It is announced today that Dubai-based premium hospitality & event management company Grand Midwest Group has signed a three-year multi-million dollar deal with MS Dhoni as its official brand ambassador.”

The Grand Midwest Group was established by Zafar Shah Khan, a UAE businessman. The company owns hotel properties in several places like Dubai, UK and Ireland.

Along with the hotel properties, Grand Midwest even has interests in the entertainment business in India and also owns a local cricket team in the UAE.

GM Sports, the company’s event management arm, has recently launched a Twenty20 international cricket tournament, named as Masters Champions League (MCL). The tournament would have its first play at the end of January, next year.

Speaking about the association with Dhoni, Shah said, “Grand Midwest Group is immensely proud to associate with one of the world’s most iconic cricket stars, MS Dhoni. What he has achieved is so impressive and we could not wish for a better sportsman to represent our brand.

Dhoni, who was overwhelmed with the offer from Grand Midwest, said, “This is my first endorsement deal outside India and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Grand Midwest Group for welcoming me to the UAE. It’s a company and a brand that resonates well with me and I look forward to working with them.”
