After creating a positive buzz with impressive posters, songs and trailers, Ravi Teja-Sampath Nandi's Bengal Tiger is out in theaters to test its real fate. Read the review to know if it matches up to Ravi Teja's 'Mass Maharaja' image.

Story:

The story takes off as Ravi Teja gets rejected by a girl for not being a celebrity and that's when he decides to become a famous person and targets to become a minister. He achieves it in no time by impressing home minister (Shayaji Shinde) and his daughter Raashi Khanna. However, that was not his actual aim. Is he really moving pawns to become a celebrity? What was the back story behind his intentions to trouble Boman Irani (Chief Minister) and What role does Tamannaah play? this forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

There was this dialogue from Prudhvi To Ravi Teja where he says 'If they could convert your energy into a drink, Red Bull's sales would be at stake", and that is an apt line to describe Ravi's performance in the film. He pulled off the tailor-made role with his uncommon energy and screen presence. Tamannaah was used perfectly as she is a great combination of talent and glamour. She looked nothing short of an angel in songs. Raashi Khanna added some extra glamour to the film and it is Prudhvi, who stole the show. We can easily say he is the new Brahmi in the making. Boman Irani, Shayaji Shinde and Posani were good enough.

Plus Points:

Once again, Ravi Teja proves that he is a master at creating mass entertainment. He is superb in the film and gives an all round performance. Credit should go to Sampath Nandi for showing him in such a good role. The way he has highlighted Ravi Teja in all the action episodes and thrills is very good.

Fist half of the film is hilarious with ample entertainment. Everything works big time and the director has made sure that his story line is showcased in an entertaining way. Raashi Khanna ups her glamour quotient and suits her character supremely well. Her acting capabilities have also improved and she surprises us in her bikini avatar.

Major highlight of the first half is 30 years industry Pruthvi. This comedian is slowly making an habit of giving superb performances film after film. He along with Posani and Ravi Teja evoke super comedy in the first half. Interval bang has been handled supremely well and surprises the audience. Some emotional scenes and fights in the second half have been executed well.

Minus Points:

In every Ravi Teja film, entertainment is quite key and that is missing a bit during the second half. Not that the second half is bad, there is not much entertainment as the film moves on a serious conflict of interest between Boman Irani and Ravi Teja. Surprisingly, Tamannah has not much of a meaty role. Her character looks dull and just goes with the flow.

Routine scenes, flashback episode and the hero with a tainted flashback, everything goes on a predictable note and spoils the fun during this time. Also, the songs spoil the mood of the film in the second half as they come back to back.

Even though Raashi sizzles in a bikini, there was absolutely no need of this as she should have saved her act for a better scene and film. Ravi Teja looks way too slim in many scenes and seriously needs to get back his weight.

Technical Aspects:

Director Sampath Nandi restored his command over mass entertainers with Bengal Tiger and the way he clubbed the right measures of comedy, hero elevations and story proves his mettle. Though only a couple of songs were impressive, Bheems background score deserves a special mention as it has enhanced the film at every point. Sampath also banked heavily on his pen power and he succeeded in grabbing many hooting moments with his punch lines. However, heavy dose of Pawan Kalyan and mega references could be churlish on general audience. On the down side, Sampath failed to keep up the pace of the film and somewhere the energies dropped in the second half. Unwanted comedy dragged the film further. Cinematography and production values made Bengal Tiger a technically good film too.

Verdict:

Though Bengal Tiger is a formulaic film, it is surely a complete 'Paisa Vasool' for masses, which makes it a perfect Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja's trade mark film.
