Bhatti flays KCR for defying all Constitutional norms

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka questioned the sincerity of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao when the government unilaterally decided to proceed with PowerPoint Presentation on irrigation projects in the Assembly.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, he said even though there was a chance to provide opportunity to the Opposition to present their view point through PPT, the ruling party decided to go it all alone.

Undermining the democratic principles of equal opportunity, the Chief Minister had defied all norms specified under the Constitution. “Our party wrote two letters, but they had made up their minds to corner the Opposition,” he alleged. He said there was no response from the Speaker though the Congress addressed a letter urging him to allow even the Opposition parties to give PowerPoint presentation on the subject.

He said the Speaker raised curtains to a new tradition by allowing the ruling party to give PowerPoint presentation. The same should have been given in the Assembly Committee Hall, but the ruling party misused the power by pressurising the Speaker, he alleged. He also said, “We don’t want to be a part of the House to the wrongdoings of the ruling party.

We would have felt happy if the Chief Minister gave the tender process (worth Rs 2.40 lakh crore) in the same presentation to the projects.” Bhatti alleged that the Chief Minister endorsed and ratified the wrongdoings of the Maharashtra, which constructed 450 barrages on the Godavari in Maharashtra State.
