Girl runs away from home when parents fix aged groom

Medak: A 21-year-old girl Krishnaveni ran away from home when her parents fixed her marriage with a groom who was double her age. However, she was traced by police on Friday and was handed over to her parents.

Krishnaveni got married a year-and-a-half ago but was staying with her parents after filing for divorce due to differences with the husband. Meanwhile, Krishnaveni's parents fixed her marriage with another man. As the groom was double her age, she ran away from home and was working at a tailoring shop at Ameerpet in Hyderabad.

Kukunoorpally SI Ramkrishna Reddy said they gave counseling to Krishnveni and her parents and sent the girl back with her parents.
