Karimnagar: A. Jagan Mohan, a SI in Karimnagar district had committed suicide with his service revolver in Peddapalli village near Karimnagar. He had reportedly left a suicide note before he took this extreme step. The suicide letter is now out. Apart from establishing that Jagan Mohan did not blame anyone for the cause of his death, the note reveals the state of his mind just before he took the drastic step.
In his suicide note, Jagan mainly absolves everyone of any responsibility towards his suicide, and makes personal and professional acknowledgments and goodbyes. He also tries to explain his actions to certain colleagues and superiors.
The highlights of the note are as follows:
- Officer Jagan apologises to anyone that he had caused inconvenience to in Peddapalli.
- Expresses thanks to collegues in Peddapalli and calls the SI of Peddapalli a good man.
- Apologises to the SP and asks him not to feel bad about him losing an SI in his tenure. Is appreciative of his attitude.
- Asks the MLA not to feel bad about his death
- Lists out his family members by name and asks for their forgiveness. Tells them that no one is responsible for his death and ends with a goodbye and signature.
- Jagan Mohan perhaps wanted to use the attention that his death and his suicide letter would bring, to impress upon the authorities to realise the plight of police officers, as he goes on to write as an extended postscript, even after he has signed off in the previous lines.
- “Kindly note that there is a lot of work pressure on SIs and SHOs” he writes.
- “Jyotsna, I have not done anything for you, but you were like a friend to me” he says in this letter.
- Jagan goes on to tell his brother Kiran, to not put his picture at home which would only remind them on him and sadden them. He asks him marry a girl of his choosing and also to take up the responsibity of taking care of his elder sister. Gives him further directions to use any money that would be paid after his death towards the house loan.
- Jagan requests that no postmortem be performed on him.
- In the second page Jagan makes a 'last request' to CM KCR. He requests him to help out his brother Kiran who was allegedly trapped in an ACB raid. He testifies that after KCR has become the chief minister, he made a lot of amenities to the police department.
- Thanks all his senior colleagues for all their support.
- Jagan signs off with a saddening statement by saying that in spite of having the best SP, I was not able to earn a good name.
