Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao lauded karate exponent Falak Sayeda for being the first Indian woman to win gold at 2016 US Open Athletics Championship.
To accolade for her feats, KCR called the 22-year-old at his camp office on Tuesday. KCR gave a pleasant surprise to Falak by promising to honour her on June 2, on occasion of Telangana formation day.
Falak on her meet with chief minister expressed her desire to work in police department, particularly with SHE teams, to which KCR promised her a job.
“I was immensely pleased with the honourable Chief Minister’s response. He was so humble and encouraging,” she said.
Hailing from old city, Falak is an MA student of Vanita Vidyalaya who has won 15 International and 20 National level awards. This year she will be participating in India Open championship in Delhi to be held in August and World Championship to be held in Austria in October.
