Hyderabad: The scheduled examination of Junior Civil Judges will go on. The answer scripts will, however, be in a sealed cover and not subject to immediate valuation. A division bench of Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice P V Sanjay Kumar of the High Court at Hyderabad made the interim order on Friday.
The order was made from the chambers of the Chief Justice in the presence of the contesting counsels in an unscheduled after lunch sitting. The bench was dealing with a batch of writ petitions questioning the present selection process alleging that aspirants from Telangana were at a disadvantage.
Telangana Advocate General K Ramakrishna Reddy informed the court that the Telangana government wanted to fill the posts as per the rules framed for the state of Telangana and not those applicable to AP.
When the bench asked for the response of the state of Andhra Pradesh, Special Government Pleader (AP) informed the court that the state was bound by the orders of the Apex Court and the High Court.
When the bench asked whether AP supports the petition filed by Telangana and got no proper response, it adjourned the matter to after lunch for judgement. The bench said the examination would go on and final action on the answer scripts will happen after the bench disposes the batch of petitions.
Court refuses to stay proceedings against Satyam case accused Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar on Friday refused to interdict the Special Court from proceeding to deliver its verdict in the case against B Rama Raju in the Satyam case.
The judge was dealing with a writ petition filed by Rama Raju, former Managing Director Satyam Computers. The petitioner contended that the Special Judge Economic Offenses did not have the jurisdiction to adjudicate the cases filed against him. The judge adjourned the matter to March 23.
