Hyderabad: In a tit for tat act, the AP Government has reportedly decided to impose entry tax on Telangana transport vehicles entering its land.
According to reports, official orders are likely to be issued in this regard in the next two days.
The Chandrababu Naidu Government has taken this decision after several appeals from AP Government and transport operators to TS Government to withdraw its entry tax have fallen on deaf ears.
While Telangana Government's entry tax on AP vehicles is hitting the private tourist bus operators mostly, the AP Government's decision to impose entry tax on TS goods vehicles is likely to hit the transport sector in Telangana.
Most of trucks from Telangana carry iron ore, granite, heavy engineering equipment , plastic and pharma ingredients to Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam ports in AP and other places in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
All these vehicles will have to pass through AP cities and towns and have to shell down the entry tax imposing a burden on their finances.
