As per reliable unit sources, the role of Nandamuri Balakrishna in his upcoming film Lion is inspired from a real life character. Balayya's character in the film is said to have designed keeping sincere CBI officer JD Lakshmi Narayana's role in the mind. It may be recalled that Lakshmi Narayana played pivotal role in investigating Disproportionate Assets case of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy without any favouritism. Also talk has it that the film has few scenes hinting Jagan Reddy's case laced with powerful dialogues that is expected to set the screens ablaze.

Considering that Lion is Balayya's first film after he sworn in as MLA from Hindupur constituency, newcomer director Satya Dev took extra-special interest in designing Balayya's role and the film so that it gives good message to society.
