Hyderabad: Chain snatchers targeted an elderly woman at Sultan Bazaar on Thursday and fled with her gold chain weighing 40 grams. The victim was identified as Vijaya Kumari, 65, a resident of Ram Koti in Sultan Bazaar.

According to Sultan Bazaar additional inspector K.R. Kishore Kumar, the victim was returning home when she was targeted. From the main road, she entered into a by-lane leading to her house, when two unidentified persons followed her on a bike. Before she could do anything, they snatched the ornament and escaped.

The cops, however, managed to get CCTV footage of the incident. “Though the miscreants fled, we have got their pictures captured in a CCTV camera. We have launched a manhunt to trace them,” police said.

Another such incident was reported from Nampally and cops suspect the same offenders were involved in that cases too.
