Telangana Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao has welcomed the former PCC Chief D Srinivas and a huge fleet of supporters into Telangana Rashtra Samithi today. Speaking on the occasion, KCR said that he is welcoming his brother DS into the party and spoke at length about his association with DS since their early days.

KCR said that his association with DS is not a recent fling but it dates back to the 1969 Telangana movement days. KCR also said that both DS and him adorned numerous posts and enjoyed power in their decades long careers. In a retort to the allegations about DS' quitting Congress after he was denied an MLC berth, KCR said that a senior leader like DS does not need any further posts at the helm of his career now.

On the other hand, DS said that he took a wise decision to join TRS. The senior leader said that KCR succeeded in bringing all the political parties under one roof during the separate Telangana movement and that KCR played a key role in convincing Sonia Gandhi towards the formation of the separate state. DS further said that he still respects Sonia but that he will work with KCR to develop Telangana.
