Yadagirigutta, the abode of Lord Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy near Hyderabad is all set to be transformed into a pilgrim hub in Telangana with a separate urban development authority of its own.
Telengana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who reviewed the progress on promotion of Yadagirigutta said all the development activities would be taken up as per the Agana shastra. Yadagirigutta shrine will have a shopping mall, guest houses, cottages, pilgrim amenities etc. "I have earmarked a corpus of Rs.100 crore for development of Yadagirigutta," he said.
KCR reviewed the designs of the architects for development of a pilgrim town in and around the historic temple spread over 5 acres at the Secretariat. He is expected to visit the Yadagirigutta complex again today to review the progress of works there.
KCR wants to rebuild the main gopuram of the temple and develop the pilgrim centre on par with that of Tirumala. "It will be known as Tirumala of Telangana," he said. The temple complex is being expanded and pilgrim amenities are also added like daily anna prasadam, laddu prasadam and also tonsuring complex at Yadagirigutta.
