Hyderabad: An engineer from Khammam was amongst the nine persons deported from Turkey, while they were trying to cross over to Syria allegedly to join IS. They landed in Bengaluru on Friday. Javeed Baba, 24, a native of Khammam district along with Mohammed Abdul Ahad, 46 and his family comprising five children and wife and natives of Chennai, and Ibrahim Noufal, 24, also an engineer, a native of Hassan reached Istanbul on tourist visa on December 24 from Bengaluru.
They were sent back to India on January 30. Interesting Ahad has done his Masters in Computer Science from a University in California, USA. He also worked in USA for more than 10 years. They were questioned by police and security agencies regarding the circumstances of their visit to Turkey. The Bengaluru police said that the enquiry was on as to how they travelled and what made these nine people to attempt crossing into Syria.
