Polling is underway for the election of executive body of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA) on Sunday. The poll battle for the premier movie association was a keenly fought one and the campaign the most acrimonious so far.  

Incumbent president M Muralimohan-backed Jayasudha and Nagababu-backed Rajendraprasad have locked horns. The polling will go on till 2 PM and already stalwarts like Balakrishna, Roja, Manchu Vishnu, Manchu Lakshmi and others have exercised their franchise.

Use of electronic voting machines has made the election look every inch a real one.

The MAA has mostly seen unanimous elections. In 2000 and 2002 there were elections. This is the third time there is an election for the post of president. The counting will be taken up after the polling ends.
