After Lake Police of Hyderabad saved the life of TV actress Harjeet Kaur alias Rupa by preventing her from jumping to death into Hussain Sagar, the police have booked a case against her boy friend Kewal Singh and his parents for cheating her.

The Pet Basheerbad police have arrested Kewal Singh, as assistant manager in ICICI Bank and his parents under several sections.

Police said she lodged a complaint saying she had a relationship with Kewal Singh for the last six months and for the last two months she had been staying with him at his parents' house after he promised to marry her.

However, Kewal Singh forced her to stop acting in TV serials first and then barred her from speaking to anyone on phone, besides beating her on occasions. Two days ago, Kewal Singh sent her out of the house, police said and added she went into depression and tried to take away her life.
