Former Minister and TDP leader Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad says Pulla Rao should confine himself to his job and not make controversial statements on sensitive matters
MRPS president Krishna Madiga says for the last 20 years, the Congress and TDP have been misleading the Madigas by giving false assurances to them
Chilakaluripeta (Guntur): Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao's statement that the SC categorisation into A,B,C and D groups is not on government agenda and that any agitation on Kapu lines would be suppressed, has sparked protests from MRPS leaders and also from former Minister and TDP spokesman Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Vara Prasad said that Agriculture Minister Pulla Rao should confine himself to his job and not make controversial statements on sensitive matters. He said that his statement that SC categorisation is not on TDP agenda and that any attempt to scuttle public peace will be dealt with sternly, is unwarranted and insensitive.
He said that Madiga leaders including Manda Krishna Madiga would meet on Sunday to chalk out future course of action. Meanwhile, MRPS president Krishna Madiga condemned the statement of Pulla Rao at a press conference here. He said that since 20 years, the Congress and TDP had been misleading the Madigas by giving false assurances to them.
He said that he has no links with YSRCP or with any political party as was being put out by TDP leaders. He said that the MRPS is meeting in Ongole on Sunday to chalk out future course of action. Meanwhile, the Madigas are organising 'Simha Garjana' at Macherla in the district on February 28 to take stock of the plight of Madigas in the State.
