Gold shop owners across the country are protesting against the Central Government's new rule. They demand the Government to make some modifications for the same.
Gold shops in Hyderabad are closed today by the strike. The gold shop owners in Basheerbagh, Abids, Begum Bajar and other areas closed the stores and staged a protest.
The center, making Pan card mandatory for purchase of Gold more than Rs 2 lakh, is incorrect , said the owners.
So far, only 22 million people in the country have Pan cards. Those who do not have pan cards, are they not eligible to buy Gold?. Where from Women, Farmers can produce the pan cards?, questioned the Gold shop owners.
After implementing the rule, the business reduced by 30 percent. The limit has to be increased to Rs. 10 lakh, said owners of Gold shops.
