Oppoistion YSRCP MLA Roja criticized that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu was trying desperately to turn the people’s attention away from the crisis his party landed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.
Stating that Naidu’s MLAs were leaving the party to join TRS in Telangana because of his leadership failure in new state, Roja said Naidu wants to hide this fact with an orchestrated campaign that YSRCP MLAs were joining his party in Andhra Pradesh.
“Naidu can’t escape the same rout in Andhra Pradesh as well”, she said addressing media Friday. She also alleged that the CM was using all tricks of the trade to lure opposition MLAs to join his party. “Cases are being booked against the MLAs. Allurements are being offered. Opposition party MLAs are being denied funds and defeated ruling MLAs in their constituencies are getting funds to tune of Rs 2 crore. All committees at the grass root level are being filled with TDP members ignoring the people’s representative from the opposition party. Unfortunately for Naidu, neither MLAs nor MLCs are ready to join the ruling party,” Roja said.
“What is there to join in the TDP, a party that is going to be buried in two years, ” she proclaimed.
Referring to the propaganda that Vijayawada West MLA Jaleel Khan’s meeting with the chief minister was to join the party, she said a minister made him to meet Chandrababu Naidu and this meeting was being shown as a proof to the possible defection of Khan to the TDP. She said Khan did meet the CM but not to join the Telugu Desam party, he met the CM on some works related to the constituency and Muslims.
On the other side many YSRCP MLAs also strongly condemned chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s false propaganda that many MLAs were migrating to the ruling party.
MLAs from Prakasam district said they were examining the possibility filing a defamation suit against Chandrababu Naidu for spreading false information about opposition MLAs. MLAs M Ashok Reddy, P Ramarao, G Ravikumar, A Suresh, P David Raju, J Venkata Reddy issued a statement that they had no plans to quit the party and the news that they were trying to leave the YSRC was a blatant lie. Other MLAs- V Kalavati (Palakonda), MV Pratap Apparao ( Nuzvid), G Eswari (Paderu), Mutyala Naidu (Madugula), K Goverdhan Reddy (Sarvepalli) also issued separate statements that they were loyal members of the YSR Congress and they loyalty dates back to the days YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
