After Godavari Pushkarams last year, AP Govt is putting all efforts to conduct Krishna Pushkarams successfully this year. As per statistics from all the departments involved for pushkaram arrangements, around 3846 crores of rupees need a spend on whole.
As the Krishna river pushkarams begin on August 12th, more than 3 crore people are expected to visit ghats and take a holy dip during the auspicious days. The R&B department quoted 1961 crores, Irrigation department needs 664 crores, Muncipal administration and urban development puts proposals worth of 970 crores, panchayati raj dept 140 crores and health 48 crore rupees. CM Chandrababu will take the final call after a review meeting soon about the pushkaram arrangements.
Our govt plans to renovate 150 temples on river banks and construct atleast 125 new bathing ghats, along with approach roads construction in three districts. Endowments department of AP is looking after all these pushkaram activities. The last pushkaram was held on August 28 to September 5 in 2004 and nearly 2.5 crore people visited the river to take a holy dip.
Vijayawada, Vedadri, Mopidevi, Hamsaladeevi, Amaravati, Sitanagaram, Srisailam and Sangameswaram are the places to visit from other areas for Krishna Pushkarams.
