DDCA row | Shatrughan Sinha calls Kirti Azad a hero, says Jaitley should follow LK Advani's example

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted to the District Cricket Administration (DDCA) controversy, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha has said that Jaitley should follow come clean and follow LK Advani's example.

The BJP MP also praised Kirti Azad for raising the issue of corruption and irregularities.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Sinha tweeted, "Kirti Azad-hero of the day. Humble appeal to friends. Avoid knee jerk reaction/coercive action against friend who's fighting against corruption."

In a series of tweets he said, "Have often quoted Newton's 3rd Law. Feel that untimely action could boomerang. Sadly Party with a Difference has become Party with Differences."

He further added, "As for FM, issue should be fought politically not legally. As advised by our dashing dynamic PM, our FM could follow Advaniji's eg & come clean."

Meanwhile, in a strong show of support for Jaitley, Modi had on Tuesday said the Finance Minister will come through "with flying colours" against the charges of corruption levelled against him by the opposition in the same way that L K Advani had in the Hawala case.

LK Advani had resigned as MP in 1996 during the infamous Hawala scam and was later re-elected in 1998.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday escalated protest against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley demanding his resignation.

The political slugfest over DDCA affairs intensified on Monday after Jaitley filed a criminal defamation complaint against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other leaders.

The one member Commission of Enquiry will be headed by former Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium.
