GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy on “Tuesday” informed that in addition to 11 existing stations, the corporation was planning to add 10 more garbage transfer station. Accompanied with senior officials, the GHMC chief visited a few places to identify the suitable locations for the proposed stations.
The GHMC Commissioner inspected some of the government lands of the HMWS&SB near Ali Café in Amberpet. While on inspection, he directed the officials to reduce the number of dust bins at the important junctions. He also visited the Sewerage Treatment Plant at Amberpet which has about 45 acres of vacant land. He said about 4 acres could be used for transfer stations. The GHMC officials have been directed to coordinate with Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad Collectorates to identify suitable locations for remaining nine transfer stations.
