Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu heaped praises on AP Chief Minsiter Chandrababu Naidu over the completion of interlinking of Godavari and Krishna rivers in record time.

Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday switched on the first pump at Pattiseema lift irrigation project to make the Godavari water flow into the Polavaram right main canal which links with the Krishna basin. Godavari water will travel for about 174 km to reach Vijayawada passing through Tammileru and Gunderuvagu rivulets. This historic development will be useful to the people of Krishna delta. Water saved from Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar because of this measure will be used for Rayalseema districts.
Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) should be credited for completing the first phase works in just 165 days. It is planning to install all the 24 pumps by March next year.
