Rohit Vemula's mother approached Arvind Kejriwal requesting the latter for a government job for her younger son as the family had no source of income.
It may be recalled that she had earlier refused compensation of Rs 8 lakh from the University for her son’s suicide. She however had accepted a cheque for Rs 5 lakh from the Telangana Congress Party.
Kejriwal had responded positively to her request and said that the cabinet will respond on it. If Rohit Vemula’s mother needed a government job for her son, why did she not meet KCR or Chandrababu Naidu? Why did she travel to Delhi and meet Kejriwal who only tried to get political mileage from her son’s death?
One can understand her being angry with the university but why does she need to further politicize the issue by meeting politicians so emotionally and geographically distant from the scene and known to be staunch opponents of the ruling party?
As for Kejriwal, will he consider a job for Sushil Kumar too, the ABVP student who was assaulted by Rohit Kumar and his friends on campus?
