Ignoring the warnings from all quarters, Ram Gopal Varma landed in Vijayawada yesterday. As part of research for Vangaveeti, RGV today met former minister Devineni Nehru and TDP MLA Bonda Uma.
While RGV was expecting to get crucial details regarding the life and times and the famous faction feud between the Vangaveeti brothers and the Devineni family, much to his surprise, both the leaders strongly advised Varma against making the film which will disrupt the harmony in Vijayawada city and asked him to shelve the film.
While Devineni Nehru asked Varma to remove all the caste references in the title track of Vangaveeti to make it non controversial, Bonda Uma openly warned that he will not sit idle if RGV disrupts the existing peace and lead to communal riots in Vijayawada with his film.
The TDP MLA further opined that it is not appropriate to make a film out of sensitive issues to cash in on the tempers. Uma said that today's youth in Vijayawada prefer development and not violence.
